Hello,
Members from CUPE 2577 have entered their third week on strike. These child protection workers and support staff are fighting for better wages and improved services to meet the urgent needs of their communities.
We are asking all CUPE members to support them by signing their letter to raise their issues with the Ministry. (See Poster below with QR Code or you can follow the link below)
Please send the attached flyers to your members and encourage them to visit www.cupe.ca/forourkids
But what if they don’t? In recent years, there’s been an exodus of staff from Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville. Dedicated, skilled workers with decades of experience are burning out. And new workers who’ve just entered the field with passion and enthusiasm to help families and communities are being chased out by unreasonable workloads. All of this means fewer people providing the support families need and fewer people checking in and intervening early before a child is hurt.

The targets of the letter are changing every week so members can resign often to increase pressure.
Thank you,
