Health & Safety Injury Workers Conference Report

I had the unique privilege of attending the Health and Safety Injury Workers Conference between October 20th and October 25th. One of the seminars I would like to highlight, out of the number of different workshops that I attended, is the Ergonomics and Work Organization workshop.

The Ergonomics section focused on understanding why injuries occur and what contributing factors cause one to experience an injury. Repetitive strain injury is one such injury that was highlighted in this section. The cause of such injuries is typically attributed to job demands and workplace components.

The Work Organization section focused on why injuries occur and how one might prevent them. A few good examples of this teaching, in action, would be the workplace training and selecting the most appropriate tool for a given job.

I wish to express my appreciation for the opportunity to attend this conference. Please feel free to speak to me if you wish to know more about the conference and some of the other subjects I learned about.
